What's the Story?
In VENGEANCE OF THE PIRATE QUEEN, Alosa is busy establishing her pirate stronghold, building fortifications, and looking after her crew. Sorinda is happy as Alosa's assassin because killing is what she does best. But when one of Alosa's ships disappears from a remote, northern sea, Alosa calls on Sorinda to captain a rescue mission. Sorinda's reluctant, but now that she's agreed to it, she'll have to face a giant, bubbling menace lurking below the ship, an undead army, an immortal man who wants Sorinda for himself, and, oh, the attentions of Kearan, who seems to see right through all of Sorinda's defenses.
Is It Any Good?
This gleefully swashbuckling and genuinely funny snark-fest will have fans of all things pirate digging in with relish. Vengeance of the Pirate Queen certainly has its share of throat slitting and running through with swords, but it's more than balanced by high-seas adventure, romance, and saving the world from an immortal, power-hungry dictator. Set in the same world as Levensetter's Daughter duology, this story pivots to focus on Sorinda. Favorite characters return, and colorful new ones are introduced. The ending is satisfying while leaving plenty of room for further pirate adventures.
